The Heavy Heavy are coming to The Grey Eagle on September 26 – and 98.1 The River wants to make it a night you won’t forget. We’re giving you the chance to see the show and hang out with the band before they hit the stage.

Contest Rules:
Beginning at 12:00am, August 18th, and ending at 11:59pm, August 31st, entrants can complete a register to win form at 981TheRiver.com to enter to win tickets to see The Heavy Heavy at The Grey Eagle on September 26, 2025. There will be five winners. Each winner will receive two tickets to the concert PLUS entry for winner and guest to attend a pre-concert hangout with The Heavy Heavy at Records in the RAD on September 26, 2025. Prize is valued at $30.75 per ticket for a total estimated value of $61.50 retail.
Winners will be chosen at random by a representative of 98.1 The River on September 2 and winners will be notified by 5pm the same day.
Winner will claim tickets at The Grey Eagle Box Office Will Call line on day of concert. Winner will receive an email detailing the Heavy Heavy Hangout at Records in the RAD, once details are confirmed by band and radio station management.
The contest is open to those who hold a valid article of state identification and are 18 years of age or older and those 18 or older with a valid military I.D.
All 98.1 The River general contest rules apply. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Asheville Radio Group’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Asheville Radio Group shall have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner for any reason cannot or decides not to use any of the prize.

Pawpaw ice cream returns to The Hop, plus Asheville GreenWorks event

The pawpaw fruit for the ice cream, which will come to The Hop on Oct. 3, comes from Milkweed Meadows Farm, a family farm located outside of Hendersonville. The farm maintains an orchard of over 100 pawpaw trees to nurture zebra swallowtails, a butterfly which relies entirely on the leaves of the tree.
