Aliens, music and cosmic treats take over Morganton square

MORGANTON, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Morganton’s downtown square will host the Brown Mountain Lights Festival this Saturday, featuring a full day of live music, food, craft vendors and family-friendly activities.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will showcase 11 live bands, local craft vendors, and food and drink options. Local favorites include Merrill Mischief North Carolina, offering “Alien Poop” candies, and Ice Cream Sammies, serving cosmic-themed treats.

Admission is free, though a $5 cash or Venmo fee is required for drink bands. Organizers encourage attendees to bring friends and enjoy the “weird, wonderful and uniquely Morganton” atmosphere throughout the day.
