ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department reported that a department Flock camera on Amboy Road was minorly damaged in an act of vandalism last week.

“Officers responded to an incident of vandalism to an APD Flock camera on Amboy Road on Friday, [Aug. 7],” said Rick Rice, APD public information officer.

The camera was installed in West Asheville. Rice said that the damage was minor and that it was operational again soon after officers arrived.

“What exactly was done to it is part of the active investigation,” Rice said.

APD has a total of 11 Flock cameras, which are used as license plate readers, placed around the Asheville area.
