ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Bruce Ellison McCall, 65, plead guilty to five counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor and five counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Buncombe Superior Court earlier this month.

McCall was given an active sentence of 26-92 months.

McCall was arrested on March 2, 2026, after Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office detectives received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. McCall was charged with the 10 counts of child exploitation for possession and duplication of child sexual material.

In a press release on March 5, 2026, BCSO District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge said “investigating these types of crimes involves a specialized skill set. We are proud of the work our CID team put into this case, and their dedication to investigating these tips that led to these charges. We would like to thank Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force for their assistance with this case.
