Asheville marks ‘National Day of Direct Action’ with pair of protests

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A pair of political protests were held in Hendersonville and Asheville today as part of a “National Day of Direct Action.”

The event was heavily publicized on social media, with flyers like this one from Indivisible Asheville/WNC.

At 10 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, Feb. 17, protestors rallied outside U.S. Representative Chuck Edwards’ office at 200 N. Grove St. in Hendersonville.

Later, at 3 p.m., a crowd gathered in Pack Square Park with signs and a megaphone, protesting the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and calling to impeach President Donald Trump.
