ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Bouchon’s last day as Bouchon was Sunday. But don’t fret. Plans are to reopen as Crêperie Bouchon.

In a letter posted to social media, founder and owner Michel Baudouin said he was ready to slow down and had had some “serious buyer nibbles.”

“As incredibly lucky as it was that Bouchon sustained no damage during the storm, after Helene I’m pretty sure it would be easier to win the lottery than find a suitable buyer for Bouchon,” Baudouin said in the letter.

After about a week of retrofitting, Crêperie Bouchon is expected to open Wednesdays through Sundays, starting at 11 a.m.

“We have been truly humbled by the love and support we’ve received over the last 20 (TWENTY!) years as a little French bistro in the heart of downtown,” a post on Bouchon’s Facebook page said. “As we bid adieu to the old menu at Bouchon, we would like to remind you: DON’T PANIC. @avlrendezvous isn’t going anywhere, and you can get your steak au poivre or cordon bleu in East Asheville! “
