ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The 12th annual Burnpile Beer and Music Festival will be held at Burial Beer Co.’s Forestry Camp location this weekend, uniting over 60 breweries from around the world for an all-day celebration of brews, tunes and Asheville community.

Burnpile will run from 2-7:30 p.m., with early entry for VIP ticket holders at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 at Forestry Camp, 10 Shady Oak Dr. Entry is strictly for ages 21 and up.
Burnpile ticket-holders will have access to unlimited tastings from all of the visiting breweries, as well as the option to purchase beverages from the Forestry Camp bar. The festival will cover the gamut of beer, featuring everything from stouts to sours. There will also be non-alcoholic beer options available in the lineup.
“Our model is basically, when you pay to get in, it’s unlimited pour, so you can really drink as much as you want,” said Tim Gormley, Burial co-owner. “It’s, you know, pretty small sample sizes, and sometimes there’s lines to get to certain beers, so, of course, we suggest everyone drink responsibly.”
The taps will be spread across six to eight different pouring stations around the Forestry Camp property. Though there will be representatives from many of the visiting breweries at Burnpile, the stations will be manned by Burial staff and volunteers, allowing the brewers to enjoy the festivities and mingle with imbibers.
“I really love beer festivals, mostly for not only an opportunity to hang with friends, but, for me, hang with my fellow brewing compatriots around the world,” Gormley said. “Of course, for us, we’ve got the added element of music.”
The rock band Allah-Las will be headlining the festival, with support by alternative country band Rattlesnake Milk and local group Tombstone Poetry.

In addition to visiting breweries carting their own beers to Burnpile, Burial will offer a collection of special release beers for the event.
“Pretty much every year for Burnpile, or really any big event that we do, we try to have beers specifically for the event,” Gormley said. “With Burnpile, it’s a series of beers and I’m pretty sure all of them, with maybe one or two exceptions, are collaborations with other breweries that are gonna be here for the festival.”
For beer enthusiasts who can’t make Burnpile, or for Burnpile attendees who want to bring home beer to their buddies, the special Burial Burnpile releases will also be available in cans or bottles.
