Candler homes targeted in armed break-ins, authorities say

CANDLER, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate home burglaries in the Candler community where suspects forced their way inside and restrained residents, officials said.

The first incident happened around 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 18 in the area of Jack Lane and Ridge Street. Deputies said three armed individuals broke into a residence, restrained two occupants and stole multiple items.

The second burglary occurred at about 10:27 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the area of Hemlock Court. Investigators said three armed suspects forced their way in, assaulted and restrained the occupant and stole property.
