Crash closes part of eastbound I-240 near Patton Avenue in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A crash closed a lane on Interstate 240 in Asheville on Tuesday morning, causing traffic delays, NCDOT authorities said.

The crash occurred on eastbound I-240 near Patton Avenue at mile marker 3.8. The left lane was closed just after Exit 3, U.S. 74A (Patton Avenue), leaving one of four lanes blocked.

Traffic impacts were expected to be high while crews worked at the scene.

The lane closure began at about 8:44 a.m. and was expected to last until approximately 9:44 a.m., according to incident information.
