Crash shuts down U.S. 64 near Hendersonville

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A section of U.S. 64 (Chimney Rock Road) northeast of Hendersonville was closed Wednesday morning following a vehicle crash, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The incident, reported near Lovely Lane, shut down both directions of the highway around 8 a.m. Officials said the closure was expected to cause significant traffic delays in the area.

The road is anticipated to reopen by 10 a.m., NCDOT said. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
