Disabled vehicle backs up traffic on I-240 in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A disabled vehicle shut down the right eastbound lane of Interstate 240 near Exit 3B on Thursday morning, causing significant traffic delays, according to state transportation officials.

The incident was reported around 7:19 a.m. near mile marker 3.5 in Asheville. One of the two eastbound lanes was closed, and officials warned that the impact on morning traffic would be high.

The lane was expected to reopen by 9 a.m. as crews worked to remove the vehicle.
