Grove Arcade announces the holiday season with festive block party

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — As spooky season ends and the holidays approach, the Grove Arcade has planned a festive block party to ring in the merriest time of the year.

The Grove Arcade Holiday Tree Lighting Block party will begin at noon on Saturday, Nov. 29 with an all-day holiday market, followed by evening festivities building up to the tree lighting ceremony at the end of the night.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Deck the halls of Grove Arcade

The holiday market will be curated by the Southern Highland Craft Guild, featuring handmade crafts and other goods from local artisans.

Other block party festivities include:

  • An outdoor DJ set by Captains of Revelry
  • An indoor jazz performance by the Bill Bares Trio inside the Grove Arcade Atrium
  • A Meet & Greet with Santa Claus, including photo opportunities
  • A “Letters to Santa” crafting station
  • Outdoor pop-ups by Grove Arcade merchants
  • Performances by The Asheville Ballet
  • Caroling throughout the event

“This annual Asheville Thanksgiving weekend tradition promises a full day of holiday cheer, festive music, local craftsmanship and family fun in the heart of downtown Asheville,” wrote Grove Arcade in a press release.
