What to know about the One Act Play Festival
After an open call for submissions from around the country, 10 plays have been selected for the 2025 One Act Play Festival, split into “Show A” and “Show B.”
The plays are a diverse assortment, ranging in genre from comedy to drama to ghost story, in the case of Chris Morse’s “The Ghoul in Aparment 3-G.” Audiences are invited to participate by voting for their favorite shows in the lineup, the most lauded of which will be selected for the Best of Show performance at the festival’s end.
For audiences who have never seen a one act play before, the Hendersonville Theatre provided a helpful primer on their website.
“One-act plays are renowned for their intensity and focus, delivering powerful narratives in a condensed format,” the theatre wrote. “This unique approach demands precision and creativity from performers, resulting in captivating and memorable performances. For artists, the festival provides an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their versatility and innovation, fostering growth in acting, directing and technical execution.”
