“Opening our second Huey Magoo’s is an exciting step for our team, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring this amazing brand to Weaverville,” franchisee RJ Murray, who operates the restaurant and has four years of experience in the industry, said in a statement. “We look forward to building strong connections with our guests and becoming a staple in this community.”

Huey Magoo’s specializes in chicken tender meals made from the top 3 percent of the chicken — the tenderloin — which are hand-breaded, 24-hour marinated and available grilled or tossed in a variety of sauces, including buffalo, sweet red chili, lemon pepper and garlic parmesan. The menu also features salads, sandwiches, wraps, hand-spun chips, coleslaw, banana pudding and house-made dips.

The Weaverville location also offers Grilled Tender Bites, a new high-protein, snackable option. Huey Magoo’s recently launched the Magoo’s Rewards loyalty program, which allows members to earn points toward free food.

Andy Howard, CEO of Huey Magoo’s, said the new store is part of the chain’s ongoing expansion in North Carolina.

Huey Magoo’s Weaverville spot at 61 Weaver Blvd., Suite 109A, is open 11 a.m. to midnight daily.
