ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A rest area along Interstate 40 near the Tennessee state line in Haywood County is closed because of a water issue, according to transportation officials.

The closure affects the westbound rest area near mile marker 10. Officials said the expected impact to traffic is low.

The rest area was closed at 6:43 a.m. Wednesday and is expected to remain closed until noon Thursday.
