I-40 West right lane closed for about 3 miles after crash

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The right lane of I-40 West past Exit 55 in Buncombe County has shut down for miles after a car crash.

The crash, which occurred around 9:57 a.m. this morning, June 30, has impacted traffic for an approximately three-mile stretch of East Asheville interstate, according to DriveNC.

Reports at the scene appear to indicate that a car went through interstate guardrails and off the side of the road. Emergency vehicles have responded.
