LAKE LURE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Lake Lure is relocating its town hall and police department operations to a new temporary location following flood damage caused by Tropical Storm Helene, officials announced Tuesday.

The new site, known as The Landings, is at 920 Buffalo Creek Road in Lake Lure. The police department has already completed most of its move and is now operating out of the new facility. Administrative staff are expected to transition throughout July, with full operational capacity set for Aug. 1.

Town officials said the relocation is a temporary solution while long-term plans for the damaged town hall are determined. Staff had been working from temporary offices since the storm hit.

The town’s mailing address — P.O. Box 255, Lake Lure, NC 28746 — will remain unchanged. Residents seeking assistance can call 828-625-9983 or view the staff directory here.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this transition,” town officials said in a statement, “and look forward to continuing to serve the community from our new location.”
