Moving closure on I-40 near Tennessee line causes delays

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A moving closure is in effect on Interstate 40 in Haywood County as crews repair barrier walls.

The closure affects both directions between the Tennessee state line and mile marker 7. Officials say the work is expected to create medium traffic impacts.

The closure began at 9:30 a.m. and is scheduled to end by 10:30 a.m.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and drive cautiously through the work zone.
