ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Oktoberfest, the annual Bavarian celebration of beer and cheer, will return to downtown Asheville with free admission for all.
The Asheville Downtown Association event will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 in Pack Square Park.

While admission to the festival is free, guests ages 21 and up are invited to purchase a Prost Pass. The $25 pass, named for the German word for “cheers,” includes a souvenir tasting glass and samples from participating beverage vendors.
This Oktoberfest, over 20 Western North Carolina breweries and beverage manufacturers will be in attendance, presenting an array of more than 60 different beverages. Local food trucks, including Haus Heidelberg German Restaurant, will have Bavarian bites for sale.
Other entertainment will include Oktoberfest Games, live music from Lagerhosen and The Hillclimbers and comedian Hilliary Begley as event emcee.
