One victim in fatal Asheville shooting identified

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Authorities have identified one person who was killed in a shooting Monday, Dec. 16, in Asheville.

Jaylen Deshawn Boston, 28, was identified as one of the victims fatally shot at Pisgah View Apartments. The name of the 16-year-old victim has not been released.

According to a statement from the Asheville Police Department, officers arrived at the scene at 3:19 p.m. after reports of gunfire at the apartment complex.

Responding officers entered the apartment to find two victims in the main living area. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene while another had CPR performed on them by officers before also being pronounced dead.
