Police activity closes lane on I-26 East near Brevard Road

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A lane of Interstate 26 East is closed near Brevard Road in Asheville because of police activity, officials said Monday.

The closure, which started about 5:45 a.m., affects the right lane about a mile before Exit 33 (NC 191/Brevard Road) in Buncombe County. One of two lanes is currently blocked.

Authorities said drivers should expect heavy traffic delays in the area.
