Police seek third suspect in downtown Asheville shooting

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a third suspect connected to a March 8 shooting in downtown Asheville that left nine people injured.

Investigators with the department’s Major Case Unit said they have identified another individual believed to be involved in the shooting on Lexington Avenue.

The suspect is described as a Black male, about 6 feet tall with a large build. He is bald and has a beard and sideburns, police said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or the incident is asked to contact Asheville police at 828-252-1110. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the TIP2APD smartphone app or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
