Scattered power outages hit Asheville area as temperatures drop

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Scattered power outages were reported across Western North Carolina on Sunday as temperatures fell.

As of 3 p.m., about 263 Duke Energy customers in the Asheville area were without electricity. Additional outages included 237 in Macon County.

In Haywood County, three separate outages affected 37 customers, according to Haywood Electric Membership Corp.

Officials did not immediately provide an estimated restoration time.
