Search continues for Black Mountain man

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Authorities are searching for a Black Mountain man who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Russell Stone, 52, was last seen on May 17 leaving his residence on West Keesler St., according to the Black Mountain Police Department. He is believed to have left on foot in an unknown direction. The area behind his home is heavily wooded.

Stone is described as 6 feet tall and wears thick glasses. He has a distinctive tattoo of a rat on the back of his neck.

Local police are working with the Asheville Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to locate Stone.

Anyone with information or possible sightings is urged to call 911 immediately.
