ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Six former Asheville City Soccer Club players were selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, setting a club record and tying for the most alumni taken from any USL League Two club this year.
Two Blues were chosen in the first round Thursday. UNC Greensboro midfielder Issah Haruna was selected by Orlando City SC with the 20th overall pick and UNC defender Dylan Kropp went to Real Salt Lake at No. 25.
Three former Asheville City players were taken in the second round. UIC midfielder Edouard Nys was selected by FC Dallas at No. 40. UCLA midfielder Tarun Karumanchi was chosen by the Columbus Crew at No. 49, followed by Kentucky defender Max Miller, who was taken by Nashville SC at No. 50.
The Houston Dynamo selected Seton Hall defender Agustin Resch with the 69th pick in the third round, bringing the total number of former Blues drafted to six.
The six selections surpass Asheville City’s previous SuperDraft record of five players, set in 2023. The club has now had 14 players selected over the past four MLS SuperDrafts dating back to 2023. No former Blues were drafted in 2024, while three were selected in 2025: Ryan Baer, Charlie Harper and Nico Cavallo.
