ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement has sparked global headlines — and speculation that Asheville’s Biltmore Estate could play a role in their wedding plans.

Though details of the proposal remain unclear, social media posts from Kelce’s mother, Donna, have fueled rumors. In recent days, she shared photos from the Biltmore Estate, the 19th-century Vanderbilt mansion and gardens that draw more than a million visitors each year. The timing coincided with the couple’s engagement announcement, prompting some to wonder if Asheville could host one of the most high-profile weddings in years.

Buncombe County officials were quick to join the chatter. Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger posted that his office “would be honored” to issue the marriage license, while the county government reminded residents and visitors that licenses are available same-day.

“Asheville isn’t the obvious choice, but that might be part of the appeal,” Reisinger wrote, noting the city’s mountain scenery, renovated airport with expanded flight service, and world-class venues like Biltmore.

Tourism leaders have also weighed in, pointing out that a Swift-Kelce wedding could bring an economic boost to Western North Carolina, which is still recovering from the devastation of Tropical Storm Helene.

Whether the pop superstar and NFL tight end actually tie the knot in Asheville remains to be seen. Representatives for Swift, Kelce and Biltmore Estate did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

For now, fans are left to imagine what a storybook wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains might look like — and whether Asheville could be the setting where music’s biggest star and football’s biggest name say “I do.”
