ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Security screening operations returned to normal Tuesday morning at Asheville Regional Airport after equipment issues caused long lines and extended wait times a day earlier.

Airport officials said the Transportation Security Administration resolved the equipment problems, allowing all security lanes to reopen. The airport reinstated its standard recommendation that passengers arrive at least two hours before their flight’s boarding time.

“All lanes have been opened,” an airport spokesperson said Tuesday morning.

On Monday, TSA equipment issues led to significant delays at security checkpoints, with wait times reaching up to 1 hour and 45 minutes during peak periods, according to the airport. Travelers were advised to arrive at least 2½ hours before boarding to accommodate the delays.

Asheville Regional Airport notified passengers of the resolution in a Tuesday morning travel alert, saying screening operations had stabilized.
