WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — ‘Tis the season to attend the Weaverville Tailgate Holiday Market.

The annual holiday market will run from 3-6 p.m. every Wednesday from Nov. 5-Dec. 17 at the Weaverville Community Center, 60 Lakeshore Dr.

The holidays are here in Weaverville

While the Weaverville Tailgate Market operates all year long, the holiday season is a special time for the community marketplace.

“We have extra craft vendors that we typically don’t have during the regular season,” explained Market Manager Michele Clausen. “A lot of them are holiday crafts or are geared towards gift purchasing. I know we have jewelers coming.”

The market, spread out both indoors and outdoors on the grounds of the Weaverville Community Center, is comprised of up to 30 different local artists, artisans and farmers, many of whom are from Weaverville themselves.

“A few travel a little bit farther, like from Black Mountain or Hendersonville,” Clausen said. “But mostly, just local folks from Weaverville and Madison County.”

The vendors will not be the only folks to come out for the holiday market. Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

“He’ll be set in his throne and he’ll also walk around some too. Yes, families can take photos with him. There might even be some other folks dressing up,” Clausen hinted. “Some elves will maybe show, I don’t know. We never know in our market who will come.”
