MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Emergency crews are working to contain a wildfire burning near the 1300 block of Armstrong Creek Road off N.C .226 A north of Marion.

There are no evacuation orders at this time, McDowell County authorities said in a news release.

Multiple agencies are on the scene including Woodlawn Fire Department, Hankins Fire Department, Nebo Fire Department, Glenwood Fire Department, McDowell EMS, McDowell County Emergency Management, NC Forest Service and the U.S. Forest Service.

There’s been no word on how large the fire is or what started it.
