ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The WNC Nature Center is inviting children and families to bring their stuffed animals for a “Critter Checkup” this Saturday, December 6.

The event gives kids a hands-on way to learn about animal care, featuring appointments with a veterinary technician and a volunteer veterinarian. Each stuffed animal will receive a personalized Certificate of Health.

Programs will run alongside hot cocoa, treats and a special appearance by Meatloaf, the Nature Center’s hellbender mascot. Admission to the Nature Center is included.

Tickets are still available for the 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. time slots. Prices are $10 for member children, $5 for member adults and $15 for non-members of any age.
