Beginning at 12:00am, January 12th, 2026, and ending at 11:59pm, January 18th, 2026, entrants can complete a register to win form at 981TheRiver.com to enter to win tickets to see Pete Yorn at The Orange Peel on February 7, 2026. There will be five winners. Each winner will receive a pair (2) of tickets. Tickets are valued at $56.70 per ticket for a total estimated value of $113.40 retail.

Winners will be chosen at random by a representative of 98.1 The River on Monday, January 19th, 2026, and winners will be notified by 5pm the same day.

Winner will claim prize at The Orange Peel Box Office Will Call line on day of concert.

The contest is open to those who hold a valid article of state identification and are 18 years of age or older and those 18 or older with a valid military I.D.

All 98.1 The River general contest rules apply. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Asheville Radio Group’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. Asheville Radio Group shall have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner for any reason cannot or decides not to use any of the prize.

NC film critics group announces 2025 Best of Cinema nominees

Following the Golden Globes last night, the North Carolina Film Critics Association has unveiled their nominees for the 2026 Best of Cinema awards, recognizing filmmaking achievement in narrative, documentary, animated and technical categories. "Sinners" leads with a record 19 nominations.
